Whether you are hitting a milestone age of 16, 18, 21, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70+, or you are turning 22 and you specifically want to tear it up on the dancefloor when the DJ plays T-swift’s “22”, or even if you are just wanting to put something together to celebrate the day, we have a few tips and tricks up our sleeve to help make your birthday one that you won’t forget.

The Decor

For some people the Look and Feel of their birthday is just as important as any other detail - your venue is a blank campus and as your birthday party is all about you, it is important that there are elements of you splashed all around the room! We have some great options available here at Gravity that will help to put “you” in your decor or options that will help to highlight any personal details you may want to add.

1. Festoons or Fairy Lights

Looking to recreate the night sky with a fairy light roof? Add a bit of ambience with our pinterest-able festoons? Or create a photo space with our Fairy Light Curtains? We can help make all this a reality. All of our Fairy lights and festoons come in connectable lengths so the possibilities of what you could do with these is endless. Festoons are a great option if you are going for a boho, 70s feel or if you are looking at taking your birthday outside. With three colour options to choose from, fairy lights are a classic decor option and for good reason, they are super easy to work with and can wrap around poles, be put on tables or used as a feature for a photo spot.

2. Uplights

Looking to transform the atmosphere of your venue? Looking to enhance your venue? Or looking for a way to draw attention to a few features at your party? Then our Gravity battery uplights are your new best friend! We love to see these uplights scattered around the walls of your venue not only to give beautiful ambient lighting but to also add dynamics to your space. We have multiple colour options available which will help in keeping with the theme or any colour scheme you decide to follow for your party. Not only do uplights add to the atmosphere of your party but they are also a way to draw your guests attention to any personal details you may have added like a welcome sign, a photo board, or a guest book table.

3. Neon Signs

Neon signs are lit (see what we did there). At Gravity we know that Party neon signs are making a comeback so to help your party stay on trend we have a handful of neon signs you can hire. This will be a real feature wherever you place it - the entrance way, by the dancefloor, as part of a photography backdrop.

Capture it

A wise person once said - if you don’t have the photos then it never happened… Now to be honest we have no idea who said it and if they were actually wise but here at Gravity we believe it! If you are putting together a killer party then it’s only right that it is captured so those memories last a lifetime! We have two ways we recommend capturing the fun at your birthday…

1. Roaming Photographer

A roaming photographer moves around the event capturing group photos, those candid moments and action shots. It flows with the evening and leaves you with the same feeling when looking back over the images. We totally recommend roaming photography for your birthday party as it is the perfect way to capture candid moments as well as the crazy spontaneous parts. Our team will take the stress off you feeling the need to document your birthday, capturing all the important moments including the cake, speeches, and maybe a cheeky shot or two (wink face).

2. Photobooth

Work it, Snap it, Print it! There is nothing quite like a #gravitybooth to add something special to your birthday. Our Photobooths can be personalised to your party including the type of booth you would like, the backdrop to suit your theme or colour schemes and personalised photostrips that will have your name and date of party. Our Photobooths are also insta-print and will print out two copies of your strip - meaning your guests can take away their photostrips right there and then or alternatively you could set up a guest book where one of the insta prints goes into the guest book and the other your guests can take away! Don’t worry about missing out on any of the moments captured in the #gravitybooth as at the end of your event, you will also receive a digital copy of the photos taken!

1. DJ

Don’t leave your dancefloor to chance and make sure you hire a professional to get the party started. A Gravity DJ knows how to read the crowd and set the mood. We want to hear those speeches loud and clear so having sound is crucial to making sure your guests and yourself can join in on the fun. We can even help you out and point you in the right direction if you are looking at having a live band or musician.
